8 days in Morocco . 8 jours au Maroc . 8 giorni in Marocco

Day 1: Marrakech

We arrived in Marrakech around midday. We took a taxi to go to our riad in the heart of the medina (the old city) (tips: bargain the taxi price at the airport). Warm welcome in our riad called Jnane Mogador with a Moroccan tea. A charming riad with a lovely staff. We planed to walk in the souk of Marrakech the afternoon and to discover Moroccan craft objects. (tips if you want to buy a souvenir bargain the price, divide it by 2 or 3). But first we took a fresh orange juice on the place Jemaa el Fna, so sweet and so good! And we had lunch on one of the rooftop restaurant of the place Jemaa El Fna. At the end of the day we came back to our riad where we book a hammam and massage so relaxing and the prices were fair! The night in the middle of the place Jemaa al fna, animation and restaurant take place. We decide to have dinner in one of those restaurant, simple and authentic food.

Jour 1: Marrakech

On est arrivé à Marrakech vers midi. On a pris un taxi pour rejoindre notre riad dans le centre de la medina. (conseils: négociez le prix du taxi à l'aéroport). Chaleureux accueil au riad Jnane Mogador avec un thé de bienvenue. Charmant riad et une équipe très gentille. L'après midi nous a avions prévu de faire les souks de Marrakech pour découvrir l'artisanat Marocain. (conseil: si vous achetez un souvenir négocier le prix, vous pouvez diviser le prix initial par 2 ou 3). Mais avant nous avons pris un jus d'orange frais sur la place Jemaa El fna, naturellement sucré ils sont super bon! Nous avons déjeuné sur l'un des nombreux restaurants rooftop de la place Jemaa El Fna, un bon tajine! A la fin de la journée nous sommes retourné à notre riad où nous avions réservé un hammam avec un massage, super relaxant et un bon rapport qualité/prix. Le soir au milieu de la place, des animations et restaurants prennent place. Nous avons mangé dans l'un de ces restaurants, bon, simple et authentique.

Giorno 1: Marrakech

Arrivati a mezzogiorno a Marrakech prendiamo un taxi in aeroporto per recarci nel nostro riad situato nel cuore della medina(la città vecchia) consiglio:negoziate il prezzo del taxi all aeroporto.

Riceviamo un caloroso benvenuto con tradizionale te arrivati al Riad che si chiama Jnane Mogador . Nel pomeriggio decidiamo di fare una passeggiata nella Souk di Marrakech e di scoprire i prodotti degli artigiani. (Consiglio..se dovete comprare dei  souvenir negoziate per il prezzo e dividetelo per 2 o 3). Ma prima ci fermiamo a prendere un succo d’arancia fresco in piazza Jemaa el fna e decidiamo di pranzare nella stessa piazza in uno dei ristoranti con terrazza. A fine giornata siamo tornati nel nostro riad dove decidiamo di goderci un hammam e massaggio, così rilassante e anche molto conveniente! Alla sera in mezzo alla piazza Jemaa al fna tutto prende vita, animazione, ristoranti prendono vita. Decidiamo di cenare in uno di questi ristornati, cibo semplice ma autentico.

Day 2: Desert trip : Marrakech - Atlas Mountain - Ait Ben Haddou - Ouarzazate - Dades

It's easier and cheaper to book a desert trip with an agency. It's lot of drive to do in few days! They usually propose you 2, 3 or 4 days in the desert, with 2 days you will not see at all the nice desert dunes so we advise you 3 or 4 days. We personally choose 3 days with Traces Berbères (We booked more than once with them they reply quick and are reliable).

First stop was in the Atlas Mountain, it wasn't snowing but around December you can see snow. We were at 2260m above the sea level the view was amazing.

Second stop the village of Ait Ben Haddou, a traditional village made famous by the cinema, use for exemple in Game of Throne.

Third stop the city of Ouarzazate, the Moroccan hollywood, with cinema studios, most of the movie related to middle east are made here! Crossing the rose valley where they made rose water, we finally arrive in our hotel in Dades Boulemane. A charming hotel called Jardin de la Source and a lovely staff.

Jour 2: Desert trip : Marrakech - Atlas Mountain - Ait Ben Haddou - Ouarzazate - Dades

Nous vous conseillons de réserver votre séjour dans le desert par une agence c'est plus simple et économique. C'est beaucoup d'heures de route en peu de jours! Les agences vous propose en général des séjours dans le désert de 2, 3 ou 4 jours, en 2 jours vous n'allez pas voir la plus belle partie du desert car vous vous arrêterez à Zagora alors je vous conseille de réserver 3 ou 4 jours. On a personnellement réservé 3 jours avec Traces Berbères. (On a réservé plus d'une fois avec cette agence, elle répond rapidement et est fiable.) Le premier stop est dans les montagnes de l'Atlas, il ne neigeait pas ce jour là mais au alentour de décembre vous pouvez voir de la neige. On était à 2260m d'altitude, la vue était incroyable.

Le second arrêt était dans le village Ait Ben Haddou, un village traditionnel rendu célèbre par le cinema, comme par exemple avec Game of Throne.

Le troisième arrêt est la ville de de Ouarzazate, le Hollywood Marocain, à l'entrée de la ville vous avez les studios de cinema, la plupart des films où l'histoire se passe au Moyen Orient on était filmé ici. Puis nous avons traversé la vallée des roses où l'on fabrique l'eau de rose, pour arriver à notre hotel à Dades Boulemane. Un charmant hotel appelé Jardin de la Source avec une équipe super gentille.

Giorno 2: Desert trip : Marrakech - Atlas Mountain - Ait Ben Haddou - Ouarzazate - Dades

È facile e non costoso prenotare con un agenzia. C'è un sacco di strada da fare. Solitamente vi propongono 2,3 o 4 giorni, 2 giorni non sono abbastanza perché non arriverete fino alla dune di sabbia quindi vi consigliamo 3 o 4 giorni. No abbiamo scelto di farne 3 con Traces Berbères (ho prenotato più di una volta con loro e posso dire che sono affidabili e veloci).

La prima tappa è stata nelle montagne Atlas, non c'era neve intorno perché troppo presto comunque intorno s dicembre potete vedere le cime innevate. Siamo a 2260m sul livello del mare e la vista è mozzafiato.

La seconda tappa e stata nel villaggio di Ait Ben Haddou, un villaggio tradizionale diventato famoso grazie al cinema visto che hanno girato famosi film e serie TV come Game of Throne.

Terza tappa nella città di Ouarzazate, Holliwood del Marocco      con i  studi cinematografici dove sono stati girati la maggior parte dei film che parlano del medio oriente!

Passando tra la valle delle rose dove producono l'acqua di rose  finalmente arriviamo nel nostro accogliente hotel che si chiama Jardin de la Source lo staff è stato davvero gentile.

Day 3: Desert trip: Dades - Tinghir - Todra - Merzouga

On the way to the desert of Merzouga but two more stop before. The first stop was in the village of Tinghir, a berber village. We were welcomed by a guide that show us around and the berber rug weaving. (tips: during your trip don't forget to give to the guides and driver a little something at the end). The second stop was in the Todra Gorge. We feel so small in front of this canyon cliff. Morgane went there younger to climb it. In fact it's a nice natural climbing spot!

We arrive before sunset in the dunes of Merzouga, our camels were waiting us for a ride of 1h30. Amazing landscape with the sunset but ride camels is painful after a while! We finally arrived in our camp for the night. The berber guide offered us a shisha, before dinner, and after we were all seating around the fire singing and listening traditional berber song. The sky was full of stars and be careful you can also see shooting stars (tips: in winter is really cold in the desert, so bring warm clothes)

Jour 3: Desert trip: Dades - Tinghir - Todra - Merzouga

Sur la route pour le desert de Merzouga nous nous sommes arrêté deux fois. Le premier arrêt est le village berbère de Tinghir. On a été reçu par un guide qui nous a montré le village et nous a fait découvrir le tissage de tapis berbère. (conseils: durant votre séjour n'oublié pas de donner un petit quelque chose aux guides et chauffeur). Le deuxième arrêt est les Gorges du Todra. On se sent si petit devant ces immenses montagnes de roche rouges. Morgane était venu ici escalader ces montagnes lorsqu'elle était jeune. Ce lieu est un site d'escalade. Nous sommes arrivés avant le coucher de soleil à Merzouga, nos chameaux nous attendaient pour une balade d'1h30. Incroyable paysages avec le couché de soleil mais il faut avouer qu'au bout d'un moment la balade en chameau devient douloureuse. On est arrivé au camp le soir. Le guide berber nous a offert une chicha, puis nous avons mangé. Pour finir la soirée nous nous sommes assis autour d'un feu en écoutant et chantant des chants berbers. Le ciel était pleins d'étoiles et soyez vigilant vous pouvez également voir des étoiles filantes! (conseil: en hiver il fait vraiment froid dans le desert alors ramener des vêtements chauds.)

Giorno 3: Escursione nel deserto: Dades - Tinghir - Todra - Merzouga

Proseguiamo verso il deserto anche se abbiamo ancora due tappe da fare. La prima è nel villaggio di Tinghir, un villaggio di berberi. Accolti molto calorosamente dalla guida che ci mostra tutto il villaggio, non dimenticatevi di dargli qualcosa alla fine. (Suggerimento: durante il viaggio non dimenticatevi di lasciare qualche mancia alle guide all autista alla fine). La seconda tappa invece la facciamo nella gola di Todra. Ci sentiamo minuscoli davanti a questo canyon. Morgane ci è già venuta gita scolastica quando era una bambina e l'hanno pure scalata insieme agli istruttori. Infatti è un luogo naturale dove si può fare scalata! Arriviamo al deserto Merzouga quasi al tramonto, i nostri cammelli sono ad aspettarci per una passeggiata di 1 ora e mezza. Un paesaggio stupendo con il tramonto, la passeggiata sul cammello davvero dolorosa! Finalmente arriviamo al nostro accampamento dove passeremo la notte. La guida dei Berberi ci offre la shisha da fumare insieme a lui aspettando che la cena sia pronta. Dopo cena in mezzo al l'accampamento accendono un falò e tutti noi ci sedemmo intorno ad ascoltare le tipiche canzoni berbere. Il celo era pieno di stelle e se guardate con attenzione potrete vedere anche molte stelle cadenti o(consiglio: in inverno fa molto freddo nel deserto quindi portatevi vestiti che vi scaldino).

Day 4: Desert trip: Merzouga - Marrakech

The next morning we woke up before sunrise and we did the way back at the back of a pick up! We first drunk a tea in a nomad village. And after we drove to the highest dune, that we climbed (it wasn't easy!) to see an breathtaking view with the sunrise! A magic moment. Back in the pick up, riding the dunes we had trills! And now 9h of drive to come back to Marrakech! A long trip but it was worth it!

Jour 4: Desert trip: Merzouga - Marrakech

Le matin nous nous sommes réveillé avant le levé du soleil et nous sommes monté à l'arrière d'un pickup. Nous nous sommes d'abord arrêter boire le thé dans un village nomade. Et après nous avons conduit jusqu'à la plus haute dune, que nous avons escaladé (ce n'était pas facile!) pour voir cette incroyable vue avec ce coucher de soleil. Un moment magique. De retour dans le pickup, on a eu quelques sensations fortes dans la voiture sur les dunes! Et maintenant 9h de route pour revenir sur Marrakech! Un long voyage mais ça vaut tellement le coup!

Giorno 4: Escursione nel deserto: Merzouga - Marrakech

L’indomani ci svegliammo prima dell’alba and instead of ride again the camels we did the way back at the back of a pick up! Prima però ci fermammo a bere un tè in un villaggio nomade. Dopo sempre con il pick up ci portarono alle dune più alte da scalare (non cosìsemplice) dove poter ammirare un alba mozzafiato. Un momento magico. Ritorniamo al pick-up calcando le dune come una montagna russa! Ora arrivati al pullman ci aspettano 9 ore di viaggio per tornare indietro a Marrakech! Un lungo viaggio ma che ne valeva la pena!

Day 5: Marrakech

Last night we change hotel to be in the Palmeraie and discover another side of Marrakech more peaceful. This second hotel is called Murano. The morning we went to the visit the Jardin Majorelle, an amazing place that inspire YSL for it's creation. I advise you to also visite the Museum YSL it's really interesting and well done. Both of them cost around 15£ and we advise you to go early morning because there is always a queue in front!

For lunch we came back in the hotel to enjoy the swimming pool and relax like a real princess and prince life! And the afternoon we did a quad tour. It's an activity that Morgane was always doing young when she was going to Marrakech. And it's so much fun! Daniele love it too! Don't be scared of the speed, and to be dirty because you will eat lot of sand!

Jour 5: Marrakech

La nuit dernière nous avons changé d'hotel pour être dans la palmeraie est découvrir un nouveau coté de Marrakech, plus tranquille. Ce second hotel s'appelle Murano. Le matin nous avons visité le jardin Majorelle, un lieu incroyable qui a inspiré les créations d'YSL. Nous vous recommandons d'également visiter le musée YSL, il est vraiment bien fait et très intéressant. Les deux coutent au alentour de 18€ et il faut y aller le matin tot car il y a toujours une queue devant.

Pour le déjeuner nous sommes resté à l'hotel pour profiter de la piscine et se relaxer, une vraie vie de princesse et prince. L'après midi place au sensations fortes avec une balade en quad. C'est une activité que Morgane faisait plus jeune quand elle venait à Marrakech. C'est super fun! Daniele a adoré. N'aillez pas peur de la vitesse, et de la poussière car vous allez manger beaucoup de sables!

Giorni 5: Marrakech

La scorsa notte abbiamo cambiato hotel per stare nel Palmeraie e scoprire un altra parte di Marrakech quella più tranquilla. Questo hotel si chiama Murano. The morning we went to visit il Jardin Majorelle, un luogo spettacolare che inspirò YSL nelle sue creazioni. Vi consiglio anche di visitare il museo di YSL è davvero interessante e ben curato. Tutte e due vi costano all’ incirca 18€ e vi consigliamo di andare presto al mattino visto che c’è sempre cosa!

Per pranzo siamo ritornati in hotel per rilassarci e godere della piscina come una vera principessa e principe! Nel pomeriggio organizziamo un giro con i quad. È un attività che Morgane fa sempre quando viene a Marrakech. E davvero divertente e Daniele si è divertito anche lui molto! Non abbiate paura di sporcarvi e delle velocità perché mangerete un sacco di sabbia!

Day 6: Essaouira

On the road between Marrakech and Essaouira, look around because you can see goats on argan trees! We arrive for lunch in Essaouira a costal city. We first went to the fish market, authentic place where you can't be picky with the smell and the cleanliness. You can also see all this blue fishermen traditional boats. Next to it you have a square with lot of restaurants that propose you fresh fish from the market on the BBQ, super good and super cheap, we paid 30£ for 4 poeple. After that we walk to the rampart of the medina. We got lost in the street and bought our souvenirs here because so much cheaper than Marrakech. In this relaxing atmosphere we drunk a tea in a cafe under the sunset listening street singer. We really enjoy the simplicity, authenticity and relaxed atmosphere of the city. After having dinner in a rooftop restaurant we come back in our cute riad called Chems Bleu.

Jour 6: Essaouira

Sur la route entre Marrakech et Essaouira, regardez bien par la fenêtre car vous verrez des chèvres qui grimpent aux branches des arbres d'argan. Nous sommes arrivés pour le déjeuner à Essaouira, une ville sur la cote. Nous sommes d'abord allez au marché du poisson, un lieu authentique, il ne faut pas être sensible à l'odeur et à la propreté. Vous pouvez également voir tous ces fameux bateaux bleus pour la pêche. A coté vous avez une place avec des restaurants qui vous propose du poisson frais du marché à griller sur la BBQ, super bon et pas cher, on a payer seulement 30€ pour 4 personnes. Après nous avons marché jusqu'au remparts de la ville. On s'est perdu dans les rues de la médina, nous avons acheté des souvenirs car beaucoup moins cher qu'à Marrakech. Dans cette atmosphere relaxante, nous avons bu un thé à la menthe, sous le coucher de soleil en écoutant un chanteur sur la place principale. On avons vraiment apprécié la simplicité, l'authenticité et l'atmosphere détendu de la ville d'Essaouira. Après avoir diné dans un rooftop restaurant le Taros, nous sommes rentré dans notre beau riad le Chems Bleu.

Giorno 6: Essaouira

Sulla via tra Marrakech e Essaouira guardatevi intorno perché potrete vedere capre sugli alberi di Argan. Arrivammo per pranzo in Essaouira. Come prima cosa ci dirigiamo al mercato del pesce, un luogo autentico in cui non si può essere troppo schizzinosi e deboli di stomaco visto gli odori. Qua potrete trovare le tradizionali imbarcazioni blu usate dai pescatori. Subito di fianco troverete una piazzetta con un sacco di ristoranti che vi propongono pesce fresco alla griglia, tutto di ottima qualità e ad ottimi prezzi, noi abbiamo speso 30€ per 4 persone. Per smaltire il pranzo potete fare come koine farvi una passeggiata sulla rampart della Medina. We got lost in the medina and the end we bought here our souvenirs anche perché molto meno cari che a Marrakech. C’è un atmosfera rilassante accompagnata ancora di più da un tipico tè in una terrazza ammirando il tramonto ed ascoltando un giovane cantante cantare. Questa città ci è  piaciuta particolarmente per la sua semplicità, autenticità e questa atmosfera rilassante della città. Dopo aver cenato in una terrazza ritorniamo nel nostro riad Chems Bleu.

Day 7: Oualidia

On the costal road direction north we stopped for lunch in the city of Oualidia. Famous for its oysters. We advised you to eat in the restaurant L'araignée Gourmande. Since she is kid Morgane was going there, it's a safe bet! After dinner enjoy a walk on the beach. And you can drive to Casablanca.

Jour 7: Oualidia

On a reprit à la route, longeant l'océan direction nord, pour s'arrêter mangé à Oualidia. Célèbre pour ces huitres. Nous vous recommandons de manger dans le restaurant L'araignée Gourmande. Depuis enfant Morgane s'y rend, c'est une valeur sure! Après dinner nous nous sommes baladé sur la plage. Puis de retour dans la voiture, direction Casablanca.

Giorno 7: Oualidia

Sulla costa direzione north ci fermiamo a Oualidia. Famosa per le sue ostriche. Vi consigliamo di mangiare al ristorante L'araignée Gourmande É da quando Morgane è bambina che viene qua a mangiare quindi una scommessa assicurata. Dopo pranzo fecemmo una camminata sulla spiaggia e poi via fino a Casablanca.

Day 8: Casablanca

Casablanca, the industrial city but there is few things you can visit. You have to visit the mosque Hassan 2, one of the tallest of the world. The guide is included in the visit that cost around 10£. Another typical place to go in Casablanca is the Central market, an old place icon of Casablanca where you can find sea foods, vegetables, craftsmanship, restaurants, ... You can do that in a morning if you have more time you can also see the Habbous, eat in La Sqala and walk next to the Beach, do some shopping in Morocco mall...

Day 8: Casablanca

Casablanca, est la capital industrielle mais il y'a quelques lieux à visiter. Vous devez tout d'abords visiter la mosquée Hassan 2, l'une des plus haute au monde. Le guide est inclus dans le prix qui est d'environ 10€. Un autre lieu typique de Casablanca est le marché central, un vieux marché, emblématique de Casablanca où vous pouvez trouver du poissons, des fruits , des légumes, de l'artisanat, des restaurants, ... Vous pouvez faire ces deux lieux en un matin, si vous avez plus de temps vous pouvez également voir les Habbous, manger à La Sqala, vous balader sur la plage, faire du shopping au Morocco mall, ...

Giorno 8: Casablanca

Casablanca è una città industriale anche se ci sono cose da visitare. Assolutamente da visitare è la moschea di Hassan, una delle più grandi del mondo. La guida è inclusa nel prezzo che si aggira intorno ai 10€. Un altro posto tipico da visitare è il mercato centrale dove potrete comprare pesce, carne, vegetali e oggetti fatti a mano dagli artigiani...

Se poi vi resta del tempo potete visitare le Habbous, mangiare a La Sqala, farvi una passeggiata in riva al mare e perché no fare un po’ di shopping al centro commerciale..
